Match Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery making Cabernet Sauvignon from our own two hillside vineyards in the Napa Valley. Our wines possess a lovely elegance and finesse that we are sure will ultimately place them among the best that the Napa Valley has to offer.
We are proud to present the second vintage from our Spring Mountain District vineyard, the 2005 Match Baconbrook Cabernet Sauvignon. The ‘05 vintage in Napa is receiving rave reviews for its stunning Cabernets and our Baconbrook will fit right in with its peers. The wine is full-bodied and powerful with flavors of dark berry fruit, cassis, cinnamon and brown sugar. These rich flavors are supported by bright acidity and a structure of firm, chewy tannins. While it is more accessible at this young age than the 2004, we still recommend some years in the cellar for this wine to realize its full potential. If you can’t wait, be sure to decant for at least 3 or 4 hours. We bottled 360 cases of our ‘05 Baconbrook in January of this year after aging the wine for 26 months in 90% new French oak barrels.
Many of you already have some 2005 Match Butterdragon Hill Cabernet Sauvignon in your cellar but for those who missed out (or if you need more), we still have some of this beauty available. It is drinking wonderfully right now. Wine Spectator Magazine recently awarded 90 points to the’05 Butterdragon and said it possesses “an elegant style, with subtle, complex dried currant, herb, sage and mineral notes that turn smooth and pleasantly earthy, ending with a complex finish and subtle fruit and earth notes.”

Repeat Customer Program
As we’ve grown in popularity, many have asked how we handle allocations. We appreciate loyalty from our repeat customers and want to give them the best selection at the best price. At the same time, we want to give new mailing list members the chance to try our wines. We think we’ve come up with a fair solution. We send our mailers out in waves, starting off with customers who purchased from us during the previous year. They will have the first opportunity to purchase the new release. They may also take advantage of a special discount based on their past purchases: 10% plus 1% more for every hundred dollars they spent with us during the previous year (up to a maximum of 20%). Customers who purchased from a release but then chose to skip a year will still receive a 10% discount to welcome them back. Skipping two years will return a customer to retail pricing and a regular spot on the mailing list. Providing we still have wine available after offering to our most recent customers, we will offer wine to regular mailing list members. Please remember that while any discount offered to customers is good throughout the year, we do not guarantee the availability of wine so we encourage everyone to act as quickly as possible. Repeat customers can use the regular order form to order wine and their discount will be applied when their order is processed.
